A little note...
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of directing and choreographing this vibrant production of Honk Jr. with the incredible students at Simply Theatre Zürich, a project that holds special significance for me as I make my Directorial debut here in Switzerland. Working with this cast has been a joyful reminder of why theatre for young performers matters so deeply; curiosity, courage, collaboration, and a lot of fun fill every rehearsal. As a performer, director, and educator, I’m especially passionate about creating rehearsal spaces where students are able take risks, celebrate their individuality, and grow not just as artists and professionals, but as people.
Honk Jr. is a delightful musical adaptation of The Ugly Duckling, and its message feels as important as ever. Through humor, music, and movement, the show celebrates what makes us different and reminds us that belonging doesn’t come from fitting in. It comes from being fully yourself. This production embraces that message both onstage and off, highlighting the unique strengths each student brings to the ensemble.
